AGPI Game Catalog

The AGPI Game Catalog has been an official publication of the AGPI since 1989. The Game Catalog lists over 23,000 games from over 4200 publishers and includes a variety of game attributes.

The Game Catalog aims to be a comprehensive listing of all indoor games published around the world with titles using the Latin alphabet starting from 1800, or earlier, through at least 1960. (Games before and after these dates may also be included.)

Charlie Gross and Rick Tucker are the current editors of the Game Catalog.

The Game Catalog is available in two forms:

  • A searchable online database at GameCatalog.org
  • A PDF document; the 11th Edition of the Game Catalog, with 652 pages, is available online

At present, there are games included in one version that are not yet in the other; the editors are working to converge the contents.

In addition, GameCatalog.org includes articles aimed at helping game researchers find information about games from other online source.

Welcome to the AGPI!

The Association for Games & Puzzles International (AGPI), founded in 1985 by Bruce Whitehill, is the world’s foremost organization dedicated to the collection and preservation of games and puzzles.

As an international association, the AGPI is chartered to conduct research and explore the history of games and puzzles from ancient times to the present, and to disseminate information about games and puzzles to the broadest audience possible, including the general public, the media, libraries, museums, scholars, and others. Games and puzzles offer a remarkable view of our cultural past and future!

AGPI members’ interests encompass all types of games, jigsaw puzzles, and mechanical puzzles, from all eras and all around the world. Some of our members specialize in other pastimes and collect related playthings, from toys to tops, and from marbles to architectural blocks. Our membership includes a broad spectrum of individuals and expertise, from interested enthusiasts to novice collectors to some of the world’s most renowned historians, authors, and designers of game & puzzles.

Since our founding 40 years ago, the AGPI has produced outstanding publications with remarkable articles on all sorts of game and puzzle topics, all now online to members.

Originally known as the American Game Collectors Association (AGCA) in 1985, the organization’s name was changed to the Association of Game & Puzzle Collectors (AGPC) in 1999 and then to the Association for Games & Puzzles International (AGPI) in 2016 to reflect the broadened scope of our mission and our international nature.

The AGPI is organized exclusively for one or more of the purposes as specified in §501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended, as a registered tax exempt, nonprofit charity.
